Replace Existing Double Glazing

Could this be A Good time to replace existing double glazing as well as new projects?

Over the last 15-20 years replacement double glazing in various forms was one of the most popular choices that home owners undertook for various reasons.

Rotting or decaying frames, maintenance, poor insulation or just to upgrade the property both for aesthetics and resale value. Generally to make the home environment, more comfortable.

The first generation of replacement products certainly helped but by today’s standards many of the older replacement windows possibly now reaching the end of their life cycle could be costing you money and putting your home at risk.

Why not look around  your existing products, are they looking tired, a bit dated, not locking in all places, signs of draughts particularly around the opening sashes and on the hinge side, glass misting up and if installed before April  2002 then there is a very good chance that you windows will not include Low energy glass.  Yes we all grow old and time moves on...

As you will see from the content of web pages the innovations are for today’s energy saving products. With the latest announcement from the government to reduce C0 2 emissions even further and the hint of massive fuel bill increases to follow in years to come, now could be a good time to upgrade to modern efficient units.

Did you know that poorly insulated windows and doors are the third largest contributor to heat loss from our homes?

Replacing your windows with modern thermal efficient ones shows a very strong commitment to reducing your carbon foot print as well as saving money long term

(What a shame that the government does not do a little more and reduce the energy tax and VAT it imposes on these energy efficient products)

Follow the link below and look up GGF Carbon Calculator, a free calculator on just how money you could save and offset against the cost of your new installation. Don't forget there would also be the added benefits of a modern looking product, low maintenance and of course increased security.
